The team reaches the inner circle of Aguirre. During the extraction of the witness, things go wrong. It was never about the witness. The Secretary of Defense set them up. The goal wasn't to kill Aguirre; it was to start a war large enough to justify a full U.S. military intervention on Mexican soil.
Graver realizes they are the spark. Drones are inbound to level the town, erasing Aguirre, Alejandro, and the evidence.
The Climax: Alejandro, Graver, and Miguel are trapped in the fortress with Aguirre’s army closing in and a U.S. airstrike minutes away.
Graver wants to call for extraction. Alejandro realizes there is no extraction. He looks at Miguel—the boy who shot him—and sees his own son in that moment. He realizes the cycle will never end if he continues to be the tool of the government.
Alejandro makes a choice. He breaks protocol. Instead of extracting, he takes the fight to Aguirre’s command center.
In a brutal, silent sequence reminiscent of the dinner scene in the first film, Alejandro infiltrates Aguirre's safe room. He executes Aguirre, but not before stealing the "Insurance Drive"—a digital cache of blackmail on the U.S. government officials who started the war.
The Escape: As the airstrike hits the town, chaos erupts. Alejandro and Miguel flee through the collapsing tunnels. Graver holds the line, calling in his own unauthorized favor to get a chopper, effectively burning his career and life to save his "assets."
In the final moments, Alejandro hands the drive to Miguel. "You are free," Alejandro says. "Go north. Disappear."
