Unlocker 3.0.4 - Vmware

Cause: Antivirus (Windows Defender, McAfee, etc.) quarantines the patch as “hacktool.” Solution: Temporarily disable real-time protection, run unlocker, then re-enable. Add exception for the VMware folder.

  • Add macOS ISO – you must obtain a legitimate macOS installer (.iso or .dmg converted to ISO)
  • Before first boot – Edit VMX file (add if missing): 
    smc.version = "0"

    • Step 1: Stop VMware services

    Step 2: Extract the unlocker

    Step 3: Run the installer

    Step 4: Restart VMware services

    Step 5: Verify
