Why Fast Recovery Matters: The 35–50ns reverse recovery time (( t_rr )) is the hallmark of this component. Standard rectifiers (like 1N400x series) have recovery times in microseconds. When driving inductive loads (relays, solenoids, small motors), the Ftd02p can serve as a flyback diode. Its fast response clamps the inductive kickback below the breakdown voltage.
